The rate of increase in sexually transmitted diseases in the world today is truly alarming and shows no signs of decreasing. It seems that now days everyone know someone who has, or has experienced a sexually transmitted disease.
Regardless of your sexual orientation or religious beliefs, every person has a risk of a sexually transmitted disease. While it may not be you that is the one practicing unsafe sex, your partner may not be as concerned or as careful. And that can put you at risk, even though you are being careful. And the old standby of using a condom will not always guarantee that you will be safe.
Less emotionally charges as STDs, cancer of the sexual organs is nonetheless a devasting event to have to face. It may or may not have anything to do with a person's sexual orientation, but can still be lethal.
